The annual P&F Fathers’ Dinner, with special guest speaker, Penelope Twemlow (’00), was hosted on Friday night and I would like to congratulate the P&F on a very successful event. I hope you enjoy reading the wrap up from David Lisle, P&F President, below.
Fathers’ Dinner wrap up
The annual Fathers’ Dinner was held last Friday night in the Arts Centre Foyer. By all measures this was a highly enjoyable and successful event. This success is due to the efforts of many kind and dedicated people. Congratulations first to Tom Reddacliff and Bob Licina, who did a superb job organising the whole event, including food and drink, plus the sponsorship, auctions and raffles.
In this they were tirelessly assisted by Julie Gibbons and Lara Pickering in the Development and Community Office. Scott Johnson and his catering team outdid themselves, producing a veritable feast enjoyed by one and all. As always, thanks also to the Facilities team for setting up; the room looked fantastic.
Finally, a special word of appreciation to Rachel, Georgie and Annabel Reddacliff, and to Anthea and Matilda Damman for handing out name badges and selling raffle tickets at the door.
Our guest speaker, Penelope Twemlow (’00) gave an inspiring and moving address that resonated strongly with all of us in the room. It is a source of great satisfaction for the P&F that we have hosted 168¿ª½±¹ÙÍø’s Alumni as our guest speakers at the last two Fathers’ Dinners. These wonderful women have given outstanding presentations, and we hope that this tradition will continue well into the future.
The night was also a financial success, and this is due to many factors, not least the outstanding generosity of our many donors and sponsors. Thanks to our sponsor, Morgans who were represented on the night by Hamish Dee and Troy Fidler, for their ongoing support of the Fathers’ Dinner.
We would also like to acknowledge those who donated prizes to our raffle and auction - Churchie, Chris Rutherford, the Norman Hotel, The Mort Family, The Lisle Family, Kellie Robertson - Westpac Private Bank QLD, RAW Yoga, Athlete’s Foot, Café 63, and Craft Wines. We encourage you to support the generous businesses who support 168¿ª½±¹ÙÍø’s.
A special thank you must go to all the dads who so lavishly supported the raffle and auctions. All profits go directly to the school, and in particular, the new Sports Precinct.
The P&F strives to run well attended events that we in the school community genuinely enjoy, and in so doing, to raise funds and support the school. The 2019 Fathers’ Dinner has well and truly fulfilled that vision.
