Rowing - Queensland Schools’ Championships
The 2019 Queensland Schools’ Championship Regatta was held on the 21-23 September at Wyaralong Dam. 168¿ª½±¹ÙÍø’s sent a 51-strong team of rowers from Years 8 to 12 to compete in a multitude of events. It was a hot weekend with long days and multiple races throughout the day to compete in. Ice baths were brought in to cool the rowers between races and give them the edge going into their finals.
The regatta kicked off with a bit of fun as 5 168¿ª½±¹ÙÍøs senior rowers combined with 4 senior Churchie rowers to take out the mixed eight sprint race. Over the weekend, all girls raced incredibly well, learning a lot along the way which they will take into the much anticipated 2020 season ahead.
